31 DAYS OF DISNEY CHALLENGE
Day 30: How has Disney made an impact on your life?
I can’t believe this is almost over already. Dear god. This question was difficult. All I could think of as an answer for this was that I’ll always be a Disney fan.
When I was little, and during the summer when I was home from school and mom was working, I would turn on Disney movies, and go through my closet to find clothes that I had that looked like what the Princesses wore, and I would act out the movies in my living room. I’d sing along, I’d recite the lines perfectly. I knew all Disney movies by heart. I still do. It is super annoying to me when one of my parents [usually my dad, because he’s a loser] tries to quote something from Disney, even a simple line, and gets it completely wrong.
I also grew up going to the Disneyland park. I remember back when the parking lot used to actually be out front, where California Adventure now sits. I remember walking out to the car at the end of the day, and watching the fireworks from the parking lot, and all the car alarms going off. I remember the OLD Tomorrowland, I remember the ride in it that only lasted a year. I don’t remember, but am constantly reminded that toilet paper was stuffed in my shoes to make me two inches taller so I could ride the rides I wanted to when I was really little. I remember when Swiss Family Robinson Tree house was closed, and when Tarzan’s Tree house & Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye took its place. I remember when they changed parts of Tom Sawyer’s Island into a pirate cove. But most of all, I remember the characters, and how for years and years I kept on telling myself that someday I was going to be one of them.
